About Me

I am Anna (she/her), born and raised in Santa Cruz, California.  As a teenager, I worked alongside my father on a project to sit with, listen to, and interview a local farmworker who wanted to preserve his life stories for his family.  Observing and transcribing those conversations left a lasting mark on me - the wonder and privilege of accompanying him through his memories and current thoughts is a feeling that stayed with me into adulthood, inspiring me to continue writing life stories for families and ultimately leading me to become a therapist.

My path also continues to be shaped by my own stories and the many lives I've encountered in community mental health.  Now in my 40s, I carry the complex feelings of life's momentum, and have experienced both parenting and the deep grief of losing the generations before me.  I live and love in a queer, blended, mixed-race family with a partner, two teenagers, and too many animals!  In my non-working life, I find joy in cooking, gardening, and evening hikes in the Bay Area hills.
